The Etsy Shop is Open!

Night Clover Jewelry is officially open for business!

Everything is still a little rough around the edges, and I only have one listing up thus far, but hopefully there will be more soon.

So, please feel free to visit Night Clover Jewelry on Etsy. If you like what I make, then tell people about it, I need all the exposure I can get! :)

Wish me luck!

Etsy Problems and Cool Photos

Well, my dreams of Etsy glory have been temporarily halted, much to my frustration. I was almost completely done with the registration process, I had even put on my first listing, when the website asked me for my age. So, I tell them my age, and what do you know, apparently 17 year-olds can't open shops.

You could have told me a bit sooner, Etsy!

I could open it through my parents, but it would be an incredible hassle to transfer it completely back to me once I turn 18, if it's even possible. I might as well just wait until my birthday and open the shop under my own name. That's less than two months away, but the situation is still very frustrating! I feel I am losing valuable time which I could have used to establish myself on Etsy and maybe attract a few customers. I won't have much chance for that once school starts in the fall.

On the bright side, I am very excited about the photos I took in anticipation of putting listings on Etsy.

It took a few days of experimentation, but I finally came up with the method of putting the jewelry on a fuzzy woven blanket in front of the living room windows. I love how they turned out!

I took pictures of my two peyote bird pendants and one of the many peyote rings I've been making.

I also experimented a little with photographing the pendants alongside other objects, in this case an old seashell. I think the effect is interesting and helps to create a sense of perspective.

A Brave New World of Blogging

Hey folks.

Welcome to my new blog, Night Clover Jewelry. As I am in the process of setting up an Etsy shop, I decided that an appropriate step in the process would be to finally try writing a blog, in order to document my adventures in beading and beyond.

In other words, I am indulging in a bit of shameless self promotion in the possibly vain hope of generating sales. I hope you'll forgive me.

I hope you'll also forgive me if my blogging skills are somewhat...unrefined. I'm new at this, so, please, bear with me.

As I am nearing the end of my senior year of high school, and finals and graduation approach, I will probably not be able to do much in the way of either adventures or blogging for a couple of weeks. But stay tuned, because I might be able to find the time to post stuff before that time.

See you then!
